The Commercialization Center for Innovative Technologies (CCIT)

The Commercialization Center for Innovative Technologies (CCIT) is located in the Technology Centre of New Jersey in New Brunswick.  CCIT is a 46,000 square foot incubator with wet labs and office space designed to accelerate small business growth.  CCIT is a designated Soft Landings Incubator by the National Business Incubator Association and provides business and marketing services through the New Jersey Economic Development Association's (EDA) Strategic Partner Advantage Network (SPAN).  The Incubator provides shared facilities that include conference rooms, office equipment and autoclaves.

The Technology Center is on the Johnson and Johnson Campus which the EDA purchased several years ago and includes more than 400K square feet of office and lab space.  The Campus also includes the Bioscience Development Center.  The 90K square foot business accelerator  assists CCIT graduates and medium sized, growing bioscience companies with expansion and management strategies.

CCIT and the Technology Centre have formed an association with Rutgers University that facilitates the collaboration and sharing of resources between University researchers and private organizations.  The Technology Centre is located within the State's Research Corridor that spans from Princeton to Rutgers and is situated within the Greater New Brunswick Innovation Zone.  The State of New Jersey and the Edison Innovation Fund have designated three innovation zones across the state which include the Greater New Brunswick, Camden and Newark Innovation Zones.  Companies at the Technology Centre and CCIT have access to the Edison Innovation Commercialization program that supplies funding to pre-proof of concept research.  Once companies reach proof of concept they are eligible for the Edison Innovation Growth Fund which provides up to $1 million for commercialization projects.  Resident companies within the Technology Centre are also eligible for up to $5 million in secured loans, and a tax certificate transfer program that allows companies to sell tax credits to other companies in order to raise capital.
